The right laser pen battery for your model
Every Starlight Lasers laser pointer comes with its battery in the box (1 battery and a PowerFox charger with each Pro model), so you can start straight away. A spare laser pen battery is still handy, and you can add one when you order: you can keep one battery charging while the other is in the laser, and you are never caught out halfway through a presentation or a play session with the cat. Here is what fits which laser:
- PowerFox 18650 batteries (2-pack, 6800 mAh) – rechargeable Li-ion, for the G1 Pro, G3 Pro, R1 Pro and V1 Pro.
- PowerFox 16340 batteries (2-pack, 1800 mAh) – rechargeable Li-ion, for the compact G2 Pro, R2 Pro and V2 Pro.
- PowerFox charger – the same charger as supplied with every Pro laser; charges one 18650 or 16340 battery at a time.
The pen models (X1, X2, M1 and Z1) use 2 powerful AAA batteries (included); replacements are sold anywhere in the UK. Not sure which model you have? The model name is in your order confirmation.
Which battery fits my laser pointer?
| Battery | Fits |
|---|---|
| 18650 Li-ion | G1 Pro, G3 Pro, R1 Pro, V1 Pro |
| 16340 Li-ion | G2 Pro, R2 Pro, V2 Pro |
| 2x AAA | X1, X2, M1, Z1 |
Charging safely
Li-ion cells are safe and reliable when you treat them well. Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface rather than on a sofa or bed, and do not leave a charger running unattended for hours. Take the cell out once it is full. Never use a battery with a damaged wrapper or one that has been dropped hard, and do not let it come into contact with keys or coins in a pocket. Check the + and – marks when you insert a cell. Recycle old batteries at a battery collection point – most UK supermarkets have one.
Why a spare battery is worth it
For a presenter, a spare means never apologising for a fading dot halfway through a talk. For a cat owner, it means the evening game does not depend on remembering to charge. Charge one cell while the other is in the laser, and swap when the dot starts to look dim.
Going away? Pack spare cells in your hand luggage in a protective case, not loose. Need help choosing? Email support@starlightlasers.eu or read which battery your laser pointer needs. Back to the rechargeable laser pens.
