Use & range
Is it safe to use a laser pointer with my cat?
Yes, if you play sensibly. Use a class 2 pointer, keep the dot on the floor and walls at ground level, never shine it in your cat's eyes, and keep sessions short. Finish by guiding the dot onto a real toy so your cat can catch something – this avoids frustration. Our page on laser pointers for cats and dogs has a simple routine.
What is laser pointer syndrome?
It is the informal name for pets – dogs more often than cats – becoming fixated on chasing lights and shadows after a lot of laser play. Short sessions that end with a toy they can catch help prevent it. We explain the signs and what to do in our article on laser pointer syndrome.
Are laser pointers legal in the UK?
Our laser pointers are class 2 with an output up to 1 mW – the class intended for sale to the public in the UK. Misusing any laser is a different matter: shining one at a vehicle or aircraft is a criminal offence. We sell to adults (18+) only.
Which laser pointer is best for presentations?
A slim pen model is easiest to hold and carry. The red M1 gives a classic red dot, and the green X1 is more visible in a bright room. Note that our pointers point only – they do not change slides. See laser pointers for presentations.
Which laser pointer makes a good gift?
For most people a pen laser is perfect: nothing to charge and ready to use. If you cannot decide on a colour, the three-colour laser pen set (green, red and violet) is a favourite. Our gift guide helps you choose.
How long does delivery to the UK take, and is it free?
Delivery is free on every order. We ship with PostNL and tracking; UK delivery usually takes 2–5 working days. Orders placed on a working day before 3 pm (UK time) leave the same day, and every parcel fits through your letterbox. Depending on the order value, UK import VAT or a handling fee may be collected on delivery.
What batteries does my laser pointer need?
The pen models (X1, X2, M1, Z1) use 2x AAA, included. The G1 Pro, G3 Pro, R1 Pro and V1 Pro use one rechargeable 18650 cell; the compact G2 Pro, R2 Pro and V2 Pro use a 16340 cell. Every Pro model comes with 1 battery and a PowerFox charger (it charges the battery outside the laser); spares are in laser pen batteries.
Can I return a laser pointer?
Yes. You have 14 days to change your mind, and every laser comes with a 1-year warranty on top of your statutory rights. See how to withdraw or shipping and returns.
